Trinity Dunkerley is a Japanese-American mixed media artist based in Richmond, VA. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Virginia Commonwealth University with a BFA in Communication Arts. Currently, she balances her time between freelancing and graphic design for I.M.P. (930 Club, The Atlantis, Lincoln Theatre, The Anthem, Merriweather Post Pavilion).

When out of the office, Trinity works to expand her personal art practice: carrying a camera around with her 24/7, experimenting in her sketchbook, and taking ceramic and darkroom classes. Her work is informed by themes of time, connection, and humanity and takes great philosophical inspiration from ideologies celebrating imperfection and impermanence such as the Japanese concepts of Wabi Sabi and Mono No Aware.
Aesthetic inspirations range from punk subculture to second hand shopping to monty python animations, and basically anything old, weathered, and tactile. For Trinity, creating is a meditative practice that allows her to document and reflect on her everyday life. She strives to share a functional yet aesthetic body of work that allows her to connect with the friends, families, and strangers around her in hopes that they may do the same.
